Who are we?

Hicks Civil and Mining was established in 2010 by Peter and Lisa Hicks. Peter is a Ngarluma man who was born and raised in the Pilbara region and has been working professionally in the mining and construction industry since the age of 17.

Peter and Lisa remained in Port Hedland with their two daughters, Keryn and Caitlin, where they attended both primary and high school before entering the mining and construction industry themselves.

Keryn and Caitlin started in the industry at the age of 17, where they pursued careers as administrators with Ngarda Civil and Mining. Keryn went on to work within BHP for many years before commencing with the family business in 2012.

Caitlin travelled to various projects with Ngarda on a FIFO basis, before going on to work for BHP as a travel coordinator in the rail industry before then entering the family business in early 2012. Both Caitlin and Keryn have remained in the Port Hedland area, where they currently are raising their own families.

Together, the Hicks family have a combined 40 years of experience, and have since established and positioned the business to be a leading provider in the mining and construction industry.

Caitlin Hicks

“Dad has always taught us to remain true to our values, never forget where we came from and treat those around us with respect. It is those words that resonate with me constantly and have been my guide and a driving force for myself and Keryn to take over from mum and dad and push the business into the next phase of its life.”

- Caitlin Hicks-Forshaw, Director of Hicks Civil and Mining
